We are recruiting for an experienced Duty Operations Manager on behalf of a respected private coach operator in London. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, a valid PCV licence, and hands-on transport experience.

Salary: £43,000 per year

Role Highlights:

  • 5 on / 3 off shift pattern
  • Supervising and managing a team of drivers
  • Overseeing daily operations & responding to live issues
  • Tracking vehicle locations and ensuring smooth services
  • Stepping in to drive when required
  • Immediate start available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising driver shift handovers and performance
  • Monitoring vehicle tracking systems & resolving real-time issues
  • Ensuring drivers are briefed, uniformed, and compliant
  • Managing minor investigations and handling driver queries
  • Coordinating with engineering on maintenance & defect reports
  • Carrying out compliance checks, including breath testing
  • Maintaining operational records & reports

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing a team - ideally in a transport setting
  • Valid PCV Licence (Essential)
  • Operational knowledge of the coach or bus industry
  • Ability to lead from the front & maintain high service standards
  • Strong communication, problem-solving & organisational skills
  • Confident using tracking systems & completing basic reports
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends & be on call when required
