Mechanical Development Engineer

ROLE- Mechanical Development Engineer LOCATION- South Oxfordshire TERM- Permanent SALARY- £35,000- £42,000 per annum plus benefits (dependent on experience) My client works within the engineering manufacturing sector, and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Development Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the South Oxfordshire area. The Mechanical Development Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: Degree qualified or the equivalent in Mechanical Engineering such as HND/ HND/ NVQ 2 years’ or more experience working in a similar hands on Mechanical Design / Development / Manufacturing position within an engineering manufacturing environment Proficiency with using 3D CAD; ideally SolidWorks but other software will be considered Have the ability to select the correct engineering components and materials Experience of DFM Previous experience of working with machine assemblies, test rigs or precision tooling would be desirable Excellent communication skills and problem solving skills The ability to work well alone as well as part of a teamThe Mechanical Development Engineer role will involve: Being involved in engineering projects Designing and developing products and manufacturing processes Working with SolidWorks CAD software to design machine parts and tools Being involved in product development; setting up equipment for testing Meeting deadlines and targets that are set Evaluating product specifications Helping resolve any manufacturing issues Managing own workload Carrying out product testing Working in a multi-disciplinary engineering teamIf you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible, along with your availability and your salary expectation
