Our client, one of the world's largest international underwriting agencies, managing over £2.5bn in GWP, is seeking a Finance Operations Accountant to join their talented team. This is a great opportunity for a part-qualified or fully qualified accountant to work on a unique blend of financial operations, management accounting, audit and group-wide reconciliations.
The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to streamline financial processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Role Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in managing BAU activity, whilst supporting the Finance Operations team with process improvements and future growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with Finance Heads to track and manage month-end processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines, and contribute towards the development of the Control Framework.
- Support onshore and offshore teams to maintain accurate monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation and management of financial audits, working closely with finance teams and key stakeholders.
- Maintain an internal finance view monitoring each company balance sheet, and identifying and flagging potential financial risks.
- Collaborate with the Finance Transformation team to address issues, with the aim of ensuring all balances are regularly reconciled and controlled.
Experience:
- Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Prior experience in the insurance industry and/or financial services.
- Strong understanding of accounting and insurance principles and practices.
- Broad experience within a finance function.
- Exceptional analytical skills.
- Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.
- Adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
