Your Role

As Team Leader you will monitor and improve the operation of the Greater Manchester Road Activity Permit Scheme (GMRAPS) to ensure local authority highway and utility works are appropriately co-ordinated to ensure minimum disruption, contributing to improving the efficiency, availability and reliability of the Greater Manchester highway network. A key part of the role is ensuring that the Permit scheme is administered within the requirements of the relevant legislation and scheme documentation. Continuous development and improvement of the scheme is also key in addition to pursuing opportunities for future development of the service area linking with regional stakeholders. This is a hybrid role where you will be expected to work in the office 2 days per week.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is keen to take the Greater Manchester Permit Scheme to the next level of development. You will have a working knowledge of street works legislation including the New Roads and Street Works Act and Traffic Management Act. You will have excellent negotiation and communication skills with a history of working with customers and stakeholders. You will also be familiar in the use and development of permit information systems with an eye for continual improvement of the regional permit scheme.
