Anderselite are currently recruiting for an experienced Architectural Technician to join the Planning Department of a well-established consultancy in South Gloucestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in residential architecture, with the potential to progress into a senior, project-leading position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare drawings and documents for planning application submissions.
- Amend planning packs to support approval processes.
- Design layouts for housing types, flat blocks, road layouts, and landscaping.
- Develop street scenes and visual presentation materials (e.g., coloured layouts, 3D visuals).
- Assist with documentation required to discharge planning conditions.
Additional Technical Duties:
- Contribute to the preparation of Design & Access Statements and other planning support documents.
- Support technical teams with working drawings for houses and flats (elevations, sections, roof plans, etc.)
- Assist in producing external works layouts and integrating information from external consultants.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the residential housing sector.
- Strong eye for detail and design with a passion for urban design and architecture.
- Working knowledge of planning requirements and building regulations.
- Skilled in AutoCAD.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Intermediate-level experience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate with team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- ONC/HNC in a construction-related field.
- 3 GCSEs (grades C or above), including English and Maths.
Desirable:
- Ability to sketch layout designs by hand.
- Experience using SketchUp or Revit.
