We are recruiting a Project Engineer to join the team on a full time, permanent basis.
The role of Project Engineer works within the Projects team - Modernisations and Installations and coordinates the activities, resources and tasks that relate to a specific project and ensures jobs costs are kept within quoted parameters and provides progress reports to Project Manager.
Whilst this is a nationwide role, we can be flexible on the location of the candidate, you will just need to be based in the UK. We will require the successful candidate to be willing to travel and stay overnight as and when the project requires (accommodation and subsistence will be provided).
This role would ideally suit an electrically-qualified engineer, who is looking to further their career within a project environment.
You will report to the Project Manager.
You will:
- Conduct project related tasks independently and support the Project Manager in daily tasks and take responsibility in their absence.
- Lead sub-projects under supervision of the Project Manager.
- Assist in the preparation of Safety Documentation (SSOW, SSA, RAMS, Lift Planning). Training to be provided as required.
- Ensure the site team has all necessary resources to enable the project to be carried out successfully.
- Meet with the project team (Technicians & Field Supervisors), ensuring that each team member understands their responsibilities and accountabilities.
- Manage vendor relationships, relaying information between the project management and client.
- Coordinate queries and escalate points of concern to appropriate stakeholders, monitoring resolution and updating all involved.
- Carry out day-to-day project coordination activities, analyse and improve current ways of working where possible.
What we are looking for from you:
Education/Experience
- HNC / ONC Electrical Engineering.
- Involvement in engineering projects.
- IOSH qualified (preferred).
- Commercial acumen.
- Must be willing and able to travel (sometimes stay overnight) throughout the South District on an as and when basis.
- IT skills such as MS Office.
- Ability to work independently and adapt if problems occur.
