Our client seeks a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join their dynamic team. This role focuses primarily on developing and expanding our existing customer base while also identifying opportunities for new business acquisition. Our client is an industry leader in pre-grown turf rolls or mats containing a mix of wildflowers and grasses, designed to create instant meadows or biodiverse landscapes. Typical customers are gardeners, landscapers, and businesses in the public and private sectors.

Key Duties:

  • Existing Account Development & Management: Take full responsibility for your own ledger of 45-50 customers, ensuring regular engagement and personalized support. Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients, acting as their trusted advisor to foster loyalty and retention. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within your portfolio, ensuring clients receive tailored solutions that support their growth and sustainability goals. Proactively manage client communications, address concerns promptly, and ensure high levels of satisfaction to drive repeat business.
  • New Business: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through targeted research, networking, and outreach, with an emphasis on projects aligned with sustainable development and BNG. Oversee the full sales process—from prospecting to closing—ensuring a smooth and consultative experience for potential clients. Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to pinpoint emerging opportunities and inform your sales strategy.
  • CRM Management: Accurately record and track all client interactions, sales activities, and progress in our CRM system (HubSpot), ensuring data transparency and accountability.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 1-2 years in a sales, business development, or account management role, with proven success in generating revenue and managing client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of clients, ideally within sectors that focus on sustainable development or related industries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.
  • A results-oriented approach with the ability to work independently, manage your own pipeline, and seek out new opportunities.
  • Experience with CRM systems such as HubSpot to track sales activities and manage customer data effectively.
  • Familiarity with sustainable development practices and Biodiversity Net Gain is a significant plus.
