Work Placement Coordinator (22.5 hours per week - fixed term 12 months)

Most people know us as a landlord providing homes to 11,500 people and their families. But homes aren’t our business, people are. Ongo Communities is part of the Ongo group, a charity that supports at least 700 people each year to be empowered to improve their lives.
The role involves:
- Engaging with customers and employers to create meaningful work placements to support customers in enhancing their skills and CV.
- Working as part of a team to support local people, including Ongo tenants and disadvantaged individuals, to develop confidence and skills through voluntary placements in various businesses and voluntary sector organisations.
- Designing and delivering an engagement plan to canvass local businesses and exceed targets relating to the agreed number of volunteers achieved within specified areas.
We are offering a salary of £32,154 pro rata to join our small, friendly, and busy team for 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 2.30pm.
The successful candidate will have:
- Knowledge and awareness of the issues faced by community members, particularly those facing barriers to employment.
- Creativity and the ability to work on their own initiative to canvass local businesses, charities, and Ongo departments to create suitable work placement opportunities.
- The ability to meet and exceed set targets of 8-week work placements per year.
- The ability to motivate individuals and demonstrate energy and vision.
- Excellent administration and computer skills.
- The ability to transport themselves across all areas where Ongo has properties.
Closing date: 11th April 2025. Interviews will be held on 15th April.
