XCL Group are currently recruiting for our manufacturing client based in Halifax. They are looking for a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to assist and install new manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance actions, moving these from breakdown to planned maintenance.
- Ensure all equipment and installations are repaired/maintained which meets legal requirements.
- Support in the building and modification of electrical equipment in conjunction with other engineering staff.
- Assist in a proactive manner in the pre-emptive maintenance schedules for the factory machinery and equipment including forklift trucks.
- Supervise equipment to manufacturers standard to ensure you are providing a cost effective approach to repairs.
- Dealing effectively with machine breakdowns, managing and reducing all aspects of machine downtime caused by electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
- A flexible approach to work to all areas on site and to work closely with other members of the team.
- Go through training and assist in new personnel.
- Help to maintain computer information relating to performance and maintenance schedules.
Qualifications
- Must have relevant electrical qualification and experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Apprentice trained in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must be a team player.
- Ideally have experience in extrusion manufacturing equipment.
- Capable of working to engineering best practice.
Hours
- 44 hours per week.
- 3 shift rotation (mornings, lates and nights) Monday – Friday.
