My client is a privately owned architectural practice based near Brentwood, working with national brands within the hospitality, commercial and retail sectors, as well as some ad hoc residential and refurbishment/alterations. They are currently seeking an experienced ARB or RIBA accredited Architect to lead projects from inception to completion.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with professionals and clients at an early stage to agree the project brief.
- Understand the design aspects of a construction project that influence and relate to performance and functional issues, so that practical questions can be addressed at the outset.
- Evaluate and advise on environmental, legal and regulatory issues.
- Assess what surveys are required before work can commence and ensure such surveys are undertaken and results fed into the project.
- Develop project briefs and work on these as the project progresses.
- Prepare and present design proposals using AutoCAD Software.
- Lead the detailed design process and coordinate design information.
- Communicate with clients on procuring the best and most appropriate contracts for the work they are undertaking.
- Liaise with appropriate authorities (local planning authority and building inspectors) when producing documentation for statutory approval.
- Produce, analyse and advise on detailed specifications for suitable materials or processes to be used.
- Carry out design-stage risk assessments.
- Assist in administering contracts and project certifications.
- Obtain feedback from clients and people using the design, and report on the performance of the contractors and consultants.
- Appraise the performance of designs which are in use and produce maintenance management information.
- Ability to follow client brand manuals to ensure compliance to design brief.
- Complete weekly invoice sheets to indicate completed works which can be invoiced complete in-house projects.
