We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Palletiser to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for building up cases of finished product by hand and preparing them for cold storage. You will ensure that the finished product meets company standards, input data onto the Nav system, and check data accuracy against the production tracker.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with all training requirements and safely operate all required equipment.
- Check pack codes hourly to ensure correct information has been added and is compliant, reporting any issues immediately.
- Investigate wrapping issues and provide relevant information to aid swift resolution without impacting production.
- Report potential issues to Packing Team Lead or Management immediately to prevent production lost time or negative impact on customer delivery.
- Stack and wrap finished product appropriately and transport safely into the finished goods warehouse, ensuring all standards are adhered to.
- Complete start-up tasks: stack cardboard, load plastic wrap, bring pallets to the palletising room, log into computer to prepare tags for the day.
- Complete quality checks on finished product and ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately.
- Conduct equipment inspections for unusual or excessive wear and report to management as required.
- Train new Palletisers in line with skills trainers and ensure all routines are followed as per training guides.
- Label pallets correctly and maintain packaging materials, following correct packaging/banding procedures.
- Input data on a computer terminal to identify, label, and palletise finished products, checking NAV inputs against tracker inputs.
- Restack and load empty coil pallets for return to suppliers as required.
- Maintain line speed of pallet stack and plan and organise for production schedule effects.
- Ensure general safety of the palletising and warehousing area.
Skills & Experience:
- Basic understanding of English language.
- Forklift truck license is desirable.
- Ability to consistently deliver in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience in food manufacturing and handling is desirable.
- Good verbal and written English communication.
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Level 2 Food Safety (provided by the business).
- Basic knowledge of IT packages such as Excel and Word.
- GMP experience.
