People Group has proudly partnered with an award-winning multi-discipline practice in Birmingham. We are supporting the growth and expansion of their H&S division. My client is looking for an ambitious CDM/Principal Designer to join the team, seeking forward-thinking proactive professionals to complement the group. The H&S department is leading several long-term schemes in the education, commercial, and industrial sectors.

The successful CDM/Principal Designer will manage a range of projects across Birmingham and the surrounding Midlands area. The opportunity is to deliver accurate advice across the CDM 2015 regulations and act as a principal designer. You will work in collaboration with other construction professionals including architects, building surveyors, project managers, and engineers. This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next steps in their career. Daily duties:

  • Deliver a variety of H&S services to ensure compliance on construction projects
  • Offer a range of services across the CDM 2015 regulations
  • Act as a Principal Designer
  • Carry out site inspections and ensure RAMS are in place
  • Submission of the F10 Notification to the HSE and review of Construction Phase Plans prior to works starting on site
  • Assist with the writing of risk assessments and safe systems of work for clients
  • Maintain integral stakeholder relationships and manage external contractors

Requirements:

  • CDM/Principal Designer
  • Construction related degree (advantageous)
  • NEBOSH in Construction
  • Member of a professional body including CIOB, IOSH, APS, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Full UK driver's licence with own vehicle
