Key responsibilities as Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker:
- Assist residents with personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and feeding as well as daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and household chores
- Support service users to access the community, attend appointments, and engage in activities they enjoy
- Follow plans, risk assessments, and service protocols
- Support mobility and help residents move safely (using hoists and mobility aids where required)
- Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional condition
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment
- Assist with mealtime preparation and feeding where required
- Maintain accurate care records and report concerns to senior staff
- Work collaboratively with care home staff and healthcare professionals
We’re looking for a Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker with:
- Experience working in a care home or similar healthcare setting
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Up-to-date mandatory training
- Right to work in the UK
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
- Experience assisting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs
- Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or MAPA/PMVA training
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- Driver with access to a vehicle
