Key responsibilities as Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker:

  • Assist residents with personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and feeding as well as daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and household chores
  • Support service users to access the community, attend appointments, and engage in activities they enjoy
  • Follow plans, risk assessments, and service protocols
  • Support mobility and help residents move safely (using hoists and mobility aids where required)
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional condition
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment
  • Assist with mealtime preparation and feeding where required
  • Maintain accurate care records and report concerns to senior staff
  • Work collaboratively with care home staff and healthcare professionals

We’re looking for a Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker with:

  • Experience working in a care home or similar healthcare setting
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Up-to-date mandatory training
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Experience assisting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs
  • Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or MAPA/PMVA training
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Driver with access to a vehicle
