Tempest education are working with a primary school who are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join their vibrant primary school in Brent, North West London. As an Early Years Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for their youngest learners, laying the foundation for their educational journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for children aged 3 to 5 years.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate activities, lesson plans, and educational resources that promote children's intellectual, physical, and social-emotional development.
  • Support children in acquiring essential skills, such as literacy, numeracy, and communication, through play-based and interactive learning experiences.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, identifying areas of strength and areas that require additional support or intervention.
  • Collaborate with other early years practitioners and teachers to ensure a cohesive and holistic approach to learning and development.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, maintaining open lines of communication and providing feedback on children's progress.
  • Promote children's well-being and ensure their safety at all times, following safeguarding procedures and guidelines.
  • Keep accurate records of children's achievements, progress, and any incidents or observations in line with school policies.
  • Attend relevant professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills as an early years practitioner.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with children aged 3 to 5 years, preferably in a school or nursery setting.
  • Sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and its implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities, ensuring efficient planning and delivery of activities.
  • A caring and patient nature, with a genuine passion for supporting children's holistic development.
  • A proactive approach to learning and professional growth, keeping up-to-date with current best practices in early years education.
