We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Electronics Group Leader to oversee and guide a team of talented electronics engineers. This pivotal role involves leading the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge electronic systems for defence applications, while ensuring the highest standards of engineering excellence and compliance. As a leader, you will help drive both the tactical and strategic growth of the team, ensuring it evolves to meet the needs of the business. Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of electronics engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Provide technical guidance and support to team members, assisting with complex problem-solving and decision-making. Oversee the design, development, and testing of electronic systems and components for defence applications, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to ensure seamless integration of electronic systems. Review, maintain, and improve working practices related to electrical and electronics design and development, ensuring up-to-date internal documentation. Support the sales team by providing technical input for new bids, opportunities, and queries regarding electrical systems.ย  Skills & Experience: Essential: A degree in electronics or electrical engineering (2:1 or above), or a closely related discipline. Several years of hands-on experience in electrical or electronics design, particularly in PCB development for high-performance microcontrollers, communications interfaces, and associated power supply and cabling architectures. Experience in line management and leadership within a prototype engineering environment, preferably within the defence industry. Technical project management experience, following the design lifecycle. Experience with motion control systems. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Desirable: Masterโ€™s degree in electronics/electrical engineering or a closely related discipline. 5+ years of proven technical team leadership experience. Experience with electrical and electronics systems in the defence environment. Understanding of the software development lifecycle and its interaction with electronics and systems requirements.ย  Work-Life Balance: 37.5 hour working week. Lunchtime finishes on Fridays. Hybrid/flexible working arrangements (minimum of 4 days on-site presence on average). 28 days annual leave, plus Christmas closure. Holiday purchasing scheme
