A global manufacturing business require a Buyer. Applicants need tactical procurement or buying experience, be familiar with MRP/ERP and be comfortable driving suppliers against tactical KPI metrics. This is a 12 month FTC position. The Buyer will join a team of Buyers and Senior Buyer reporting into a Purchasing Manager. This team is responsible for the achievement of tactical purchasing objectives - driving suppliers against OTD/OTIF metrics. Supplier management and procurement activity is closely linked to MRP/ERP triggers, and in the role the Buyer would work with UK and global suppliers - mechanical, electronic and raw materials.
Specific duties of the Buyer include:
- Purchase order management from placement, expediting and delivery
- Supply Chain resilience and risk mitigation activities
- Maintenance of inventory and procurement data within the MRP system
- Supplier management against OTD/OTIF, development corrective action and improvement plans
- Support Purchasing Manager in continuous improvement activity around MRP and supplier performance
Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Purchasing experience as a Buyer, Senior Buyer or Junior Buyer
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering business
- MRP/ERP literate
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
