We have a rewarding opportunity for the right person to work with an individual living in their family home in Truro. This person has Charge Syndrome, a learning disability, is registered deaf and blind but this does not define them. They have a great sense of humour and a wide range of hobbies such as swimming, visiting the farm, and sensory rooms. To make the most of trips out and about, we need people who are either local to Truro or know the area, and can drive a car, holding a full UK Driving Licence.
Enriching activities will be an important factor in your support, and you will bring a wonderfully empathetic approach to truly make a difference to this person's life. You will also need to bring previous experience with you in the following:
- Learning Disabilities
- Complex care such as Tracheostomy or Peg
- Behaviours that can be perceived as challenging
- Mental health
What will your shift involve?
In this role, you will be providing high-quality care on a 2:1 basis, ensuring that the individual you support receives compassionate and attentive care tailored to their specific needs. Your responsibilities will include Tracheostomy management, peg feed via a tube, engaging with them in meaningful activities, and taking them out in the community to promote their social interaction and well-being. Additionally, you will support with household tasks to maintain a clean and organized living environment that fosters comfort and independence. Clear and confident communication in their preferred manner will be essential to building a strong and trusting relationship.

This role sits within our Bespoke family, and you will be supported by an experienced hands-on Complex Care Manager. We work together in a wide variety of locations to support adults and children with complex care needs, and a range of both physical and mental disabilities. Our teams are passionate about working in close partnership with the people we support to provide outstanding, tailored care that promotes empowerment, and do everything possible to help our clients access new experiences.
