The Role
Based at Head Office, you will report to the Tax & Treasury Accountant. This is a newly created position within the Financial Control and Compliance Team, forming part of a centre of expertise in the organisation. You’ll support the Tax & Treasury Accountant in managing investments and cashflows, submitting tax returns, overseeing treasury and banking operations, and providing expert advice when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day banking and treasury functions.
- Manage funds held in the bank and investment accounts.
- Prepare monthly VAT returns for the Group, ensuring full compliance.
- Produce monthly cashflows and forecasts.
- Perform reconciliations, including investment funds for the organisation and its subsidiaries.
- Provide expert advice to identify potential tax savings and opportunities.
- Offer guidance on global tax legislation and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with Overseas and Global Taxation rules, liaising with HMRC and other relevant bodies.
- Collate data for year-end tax returns.
- Support preparation of pension returns.
- Administer Endowments and Trust Funds.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors as required.
- Represent the organisation at external forums.
- Collaborate with operational teams and senior managers to ensure finance is integrated into strategic planning and decision-making.
Who We’re Looking For:
- AAT qualified or early-stage ACCA student.
- Self-motivated and working towards becoming a qualified accountant.
- Ambitious with a desire to learn and grow within the organisation.
- Proven experience in finance, ideally within tax and treasury functions.
- Business-focused, with a problem-solving mindset.
- Experience preparing VAT returns and cashflow reporting (essential).
