We are seeking an experienced Immigration Lawyer to join our prestigious Client's Team, specialising in both individual and commercial immigration matters. In this role, you will provide expert advice to businesses on visa applications, sponsor licences and compliance, while also handling individual immigration matters including asylum, citizenship and deportation defence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal advice and representation in immigration law matters
- Apply for UK sponsor licences to enable businesses to recruit from overseas
- Advise businesses on hiring individuals from outside the UK, including salary and skill thresholds for Skilled Worker applications
- Advise on how to complete Right to Work checks before employment
- Apply to the EU Settlement Scheme and support clients in applying to remain in the UK indefinitely
- Manage sponsor management systems, ensuring they are up-to-date
- Apply for visa extensions within the UK
- Maintain sponsor licences and advise on compliance with Home Office duties
- Prepare and submit applications for visas, work permits, asylum, and other immigration-related issues
- Represent clients in immigration hearings, tribunals, and appeals
- Stay up-to-date with changes in immigration laws and policies
- Draft and review legal documents, including petitions, appeals, and briefs
- Liaise with government agencies, embassies, and consulates as necessary
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing clear, actionable advice and regular updates
- Manage a diverse caseload efficiently, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality service
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in immigration law, with a focus on business immigration
- Strong knowledge of UK immigration law, particularly for businesses and corporate immigration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to manage a caseload and work under pressure
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and analytical skills
- Ability to build rapport with clients and handle sensitive matters with empathy and discretion
