About the Role:
As a Senior Consultant, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge forensic investigations and technical project management, focusing on power systems plant, particularly LV, MV, and HV cable systems. Your work will play a critical role in helping clients maintain reliable and resilient power networks.
You’ll have the unique opportunity to lead investigations into the condition assessment and failure analysis of power systems, working hands-on alongside a collaborative technical engineering team. From project planning and evidence collection to reporting and project closure, you’ll be involved in every stage of the process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting condition assessments and failure investigations of paper and polymeric cable systems, including cable joints and terminations.
- Leading hands-on technical investigations and strip-downs of power systems plant.
- Providing expert technical advice to the team and driving continuous improvements across our facilities and services.
- Collaborating with our Forensic Investigations and Analytical teams to ensure top-quality delivery for clients.
What we’ll need from you:
- B.Eng (or higher) in Electrical Engineering.
- Working towards or already hold professional registration with a relevant institution.
- Experience with cable systems from a cable OEM, electrical utility, consultancy, or power plant service provider.
- Comprehensive technical understanding of power systems plant and their operation.
- Knowledge of electrical field distributions and methods to control them in power plant environments.
- Ability to differentiate between failure observations and root causes during investigations.
