Chilworth Partnership are working with a growing SME Group based near Winchester in their search for a Head of Finance. Taking ownership of finance and reporting to the Managing Director, responsibilities will include:
- Production and analysis of monthly management accounts, providing necessary commentary before presenting to the leadership team.
- Reconciliation of intercompany transactions across a number of legal entities; posting recharges and adjustments where necessary.
- Submission of monthly VAT and CIS returns to HMRC.
- Manage the cash flow of the business, ensuring that operational activities are delivered seamlessly.
- Work closely with external firm of accountants with the production of annual accounts, tax computations and other statutory returns.
- Production of detailed management information to provide to the bank.
- Review of all balance sheet reconciliations completed by the finance team, and agree to external records.
- Drive development of the ERP system, ensuring that the finance function is delivering for the business as it grows.
- Develop and manage a small team.
The ideal candidate background will include:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).
- Experience of operating in a Work in Progress (WIP) focused business will be essential.
- Proven track record in producing concise management information.
- Ability to partner with non-finance functions of the business, informing and challenging where appropriate.
- Advanced Excel user who can convert data into meaningful business information for driving better decision making.
- Experience of implementing new processes and procedures and consistently challenging the status quo to improve the quality of input.
- Building relationships with commercial teams, ensuring that the two functions work hand-in-hand.
As the business continues to grow, there will be the chance for the Head of Finance to grow with the business and progress their career. There will be an expectation to be in the office 4-5 days a week.
