We are seeking a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in SolidWorks to support two key projects focused on product and process improvements. The role requires starting from scratch to model components and convert designs from 2D to 3D, ensuring efficiency improvements. You will collaborate with electrical and software engineers while contributing to the design and development of brand-new and existing products.
Responsibilities:
- Model and design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks
- Convert 2D AutoCAD drawings into 3D models for improved manufacturing efficiency
- Design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM & DFMA)
- Develop full suites of engineering drawings, ensuring modifications and improvements
- Work on new product development and enhance existing designs for efficiency and performance
- Work closely with electrical engineers using SolidWorks to integrate drawings and models
