Currently working with a well-established and respected contractor in the South of England who are seeking an experienced Gas Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. With a strong portfolio of ongoing contracts and a growing client base, this is a fantastic opportunity to secure long-term, stable work with a reputable employer. The company specialises in construction, refurbishment, building maintenance, and facilities management. They are currently delivering gas servicing and maintenance for over domestic properties on behalf of a Housing Association.

About the Role

You will play a key role in carrying out gas safety inspections, servicing, fault-finding, repairs, and installations of domestic gas appliances. You will be working across both occupied and void properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete annual gas safety inspections and issue CP12 certificates.
  • Carry out servicing, fault-finding, and repairs on domestic boilers and gas appliances.
  • Install new gas appliances and central heating systems where required.
  • Inspect and certify cookers and fires to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct occasional plumbing work in relation to gas systems.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed, including use of PPE and risk assessments.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota when needed.
  • Accurately assess job requirements and communicate with the operations centre regarding timelines and material use.

Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving License
  • NVQ Level 3 in Domestic Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
  • CCN1 Core Gas Safety
  • CENWAT1 Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters
  • MET1 Meters
  • CKR1 Domestic Cookers
  • HTR1 Gas Fires & Wall Heaters
  • G3 Unvented Qualified

Salary & Package:

  • Base Salary: £40,000 - £42,000
  • Company vehicle and fuel card
  • On-call retainer + pay for each call-out attended
  • 23 days of annual leave + bank holidays (Option to buy or sell up to 5 days of holiday)
