Head of Fundamental Equity Research – Quant Hedge Fund

The fund is committed to innovation and is looking for a leader to drive the transition into blending fundamental equity insights with systematic strategies. This role will focus on scaling new approaches to extract alpha and enhance P&L performance.

Your Role:

• Lead the fundamental equity research team, identifying and analyzing opportunities in global equities.
• Develop and implement strategies to incorporate fundamental insights into systematic investment models.
• Drive alpha generation through a combination of fundamental market knowledge and quantitative techniques, collaborating closely with portfolio managers and quantitative researchers.
• Build and maintain robust frameworks for integrating diverse data sources, ensuring consistency and scalability.
• Engage in the entire research lifecycle, including hypothesis development, data analysis, model creation, back-testing, and performance evaluation.
• Act as a strategic partner to the PM and broader platform leadership, contributing to long-term diversification initiatives.

Experience Required / About You:

• A strong background in equity research, with a proven track record of uncovering alpha-generating insights in global markets.
• Experience working within a systematic or hybrid investment framework, ideally within a hedge fund or asset management setting and with a L/S bent.
• Deep understanding of fundamental equity analysis, including sector, industry, and company-level drivers.
• Proficiency in fundamental – bottom up – analysis and a clear investment approach.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence portfolio decisions and contribute to P&L growth.
• Leadership experience, with the capability to mentor and grow a research team.
