J3A Recruitment are proud to be supporting a market leader within the Water Industry. A Tier 1 Contractor who have already proven their capabilities so far through AMP 7 with a view to have even more success moving into AMP 8. Due to a large workload and order book, they are now seeking to employ an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join their team and support projects around the Thames Valley area.
For the right person, they can find themselves at the forefront of some highly rewarding projects with an opportunity for progression into more senior roles within the business over time.
Mechanical Supervisor Responsibilities- Monitor the quality of sub-contract work to ensure work meets required Thames Water asset standards and project specifications.
- Resolve site technical queries by liaison with the Design team and Project Engineering team.
- Provide support to Site Managers with client liaison by attending meetings and reporting progress.
- Maintain a site diary to record work activities and resources used and to ensure a record of all work activities is maintained.
- Ensure that all site activity meets both internal company standards and external regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to profitability on site by maximising efficient use of manpower and plant resources and minimising abortive works.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with C.D.M. Regulations and compliance with the Company safe working practices.
- Assist in the preparation/review of Method Statements, Lift Plans, Action Plans and Risk Assessments as appropriate.
- Clean and wastewater mechanical installation and commissioning experience.
- Capable of being appointed as authorised person for isolation and permit to work purposes.
- The mechanical supervisor is responsible for the installation supervision and to support/assist with commissioning of mechanical equipment.
- The mechanical supervisor will be responsible for equipment alignment checks, pressure testing and other mechanical quality assurance issues on site.
- Mechanical Engineering qualification, Site supervisors’ qualification, CSCS card.
- Water industry experience from a main contractor background – Essential.
- Salary £50,000 - £60,000 dependent on experience.
