We are currently looking for a VAT and Tax Analyst to join The Sovini Group. This position is a Fixed Term Contract until approx. March 2026 (Maternity Cover).

As a VAT and Tax Analyst, you will be expected to:

  • Support a comprehensive VAT and Tax advice service across the Sovini Group including administering the Groups VAT accounting systems, completing VAT, CIS and Corporation Tax returns and providing day to day advice and support on VAT, CIS and Tax related matters.
  • Commit to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
  • Adhere with the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.

To be successful in a VAT and Tax Analyst role, the skills you will need:

  • Degree/Part Qualified-Qualified AAT Accountant/ATT/Qualified by experience (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge and experience of the calculation and submission of VAT, CIS and Tax returns.
  • Experience of working with Special and Standard Partial Exemption Methods.
  • Experience in managing and interrogating large volumes of financial data within Excel.
  • Experience of providing accurate and timely advice across VAT and CIS including Reverse Charge VAT in Construction.
  • Experienced in taking responsibility for accurate and timely reporting and working to deadlines.
  • Ability to interrogate, extract and analyse data from a Financial Management System and produce timely, accurate and meaningful financial, management and statistical information.
  • Aware of key triggers influencing VAT and CIS matters.
  • Aware of VAT Shelter Arrangements.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Advanced user of MS Excel.
  • Ability to appraise financial, non-financial and management information and statistics, summarising key points.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email.

Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:

  • Experience in utilising Sun Systems.
