Role: DevSecOps Engineer Location: Glasgow, Scotland Job Type: Inside IR35 Contract – 12 Months Extendable In this role, you will design and implement systems that integrate security as a core principle throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Collaborating closely with software development, security, and cloud operations teams, you will drive improvements in processes, tools, and organizational culture to embed security as a shared responsibility across all stages of development. Responsibilities: Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to embed security and privacy considerations throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Conduct threat modelling to evaluate and analyse risks associated with various processes, systems, and technologies. Perform manual source code reviews, analysis, and testing across multiple programming languages. Develop and implement automated tools and workflows to enhance the efficiency and efficacy of security controls. Continuously monitor and assess processes and systems to identify potential vulnerabilities and weaknesses. Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, including data breaches and cyber-attacks, ensuring swift resolution and mitigation. Requirements: Over 8 years of relevant experience, including hands-on security roles, leadership responsibilities, and mentoring expertise. Skilled in reviewing code to identify and address security vulnerabilities and issues proactively. Deep understanding of software development, security, and operational principles, along with best practices across diverse technology stacks. Proficient in one or more programming languages, such as Perl or Node.js. Strong knowledge of public cloud security tools, services, and components, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and containerization technologies. Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and methodologies, including Git, Jenkins, CircleCI, and Ansible. Familiar with security and privacy principles, standards, and best practices, such as authentication, authorization, encryption, and GDPR compliance.
