About the Opportunity: A leading building consultancy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join their dynamic and growing team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside market-leading professionals advising prestigious global clients across a diverse range of property types. You will be involved in a full spectrum of building consultancy services, contributing to the life cycle of commercial properties and helping shape the future of the built environment. Key Responsibilities: Building Consultancy Expertise: Deliver a wide range of instructions including project management, contract administration, dilapidations, landlord and tenant advice, pre-acquisition surveys, and technical due diligence on commercial properties. Client Liaison & Relationship Management: Develop strong client relationships through direct communication and effective management, ensuring repeat business and long-term partnerships. Business Development & Fee Generation: Actively contribute to business generation, seeking new instructions, increasing fee income, and helping to grow the department. Project Delivery: Lead and manage projects, prepare specifications, produce Reinstatement Cost Assessments, and provide advice on party wall matters and building pathology. Technical Skills: Prepare and review Schedules of Condition, manage dilapidations, and ensure all work complies with relevant Health & Safety legislation. Professional Standards: Maintain the highest level of professional conduct and deliver work to the highest standards, meeting deadlines, managing your time effectively, and maintaining confidentiality where necessary. Key Skills & Experience: Qualifications: RICS qualified (or working towards). Experience: Significant experience in building surveying, ideally in the commercial sector, with a focus on project management, dilapidations, and technical due diligence. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with AutoCAD (2012 or later) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with NBS Specification Writer is advantageous but not essential. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports and build relationships at all levels. Client-Centric: Ability to engage professionally with clients, stakeholders, and other departments to promote the firm and build your own professional profile.
