What You'll Do

(Please note that this role is a 6 month fixed term contract role!)

Staffing is a critical function at BCG. You will be working with senior partners in the company to optimise staffing levels. You should be commercially aware and have excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with high profile projects and negotiating with BCG partners regarding their teams. Working closely with our consultants, you will understand their development needs, and assign them to projects in the UK and overseas that best match their preferences and career ambitions while considering business needs. You will also need to be diplomatic and tactful in order to handle situations where we might not be able to meet their requests. The role is very customer focused and highly interactive, so strong interpersonal skills are essential.

You will:

  • Work with Senior Partners to achieve optimum deployment of consultants to projects.
  • Have a knowledge of upcoming projects and expected staffing requirements.
  • Assign staff to projects, proposals, other sales development work.
  • Work closely within the staffing team to match and balance the needs of the consultants with the project requirements.
  • Work closely with members of the Consulting Team to manage their staffing needs and advise them on upcoming projects and understand their goals and preferences.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date staffing profiles for the consulting team and send out case team confirmations.
  • Communicate the staffing process with Partners and consultants to maintain up-to-date view of the project pipeline and the needs of the business.
  • Attend Career Development meetings to provide staffing perspective on consultants and better understand their individual development needs, strengths and weaknesses.
  • Liaise with European counterparts to assist with international staffing requests.
  • Approve consultant holiday requests.
  • Work with training team to understand schedule and availability of staff.
  • Produce and update weekly reports.
  • Provide general holiday cover to staffing team when required.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong A’Level results (or equivalent).
  • Numerate.
  • Confident in the use of Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint (ideal but not essential).
  • Experience of working with a database (ideal but not essential).

This role sits within the staffing team and you will report to the Senior Staffing Manager in London.
