This is an exciting opportunity for a CNC Offline Programmer Operator with experience in SolidCAM to join a forward-thinking organisation that is shaping the future of urban mobility. Responsibilities, but are not limited to:
- Develop and generate offline programs using SolidCAM for Hurco 5-axis CNC milling machines, producing parts in small batches for R&D projects.
- Maintain inventory levels, ensuring necessary tooling and consumables are always available for efficient production.
- Produce parts to meet engineering drawings, adhering to high quality standards and tolerances, while optimising production efficiency within set target times.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to enhanced operational efficiency.
- Work with the design team to provide feedback on potential issues and recommend design modifications to optimise manufacturability.
- Operate manual machinery and 3D printing equipment to produce prototypes, models, and test components for R&D purposes.
- Support the development of apprentices and trainees, sharing expertise and promoting best practices in CNC programming and machining.
Experiences required:
- Offline programming using SolidCAM or equivalent software (e.g., Mastercam, Edgecam, PowerMill, GibbsCAM, Hypermill, CAMWorks).
- Experience with Hurco 5-axis CNC milling machines, or similar (e.g., Haas, Mazak, DMG Mori, Okuma, Fanuc, Bridgeport).
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and its application in CNC programming and part design.
- Background in CNC programming and part manufacturing, ideally for metal products in a low-volume, R&D, or prototype environment.
