We are looking for a driven and ambitious Business Development Executive to join a growing team in the legal education and training sector. Your main responsibility will be to generate new business opportunities by promoting a wide range of government-funded legal apprenticeship programmes (including Paralegal, Solicitor (SQE), CILEX, and Conveyancing) to law firms and other relevant organisations across England.
You will manage the entire sales process—from identifying leads to closing deals—and play a key role in expanding market reach and revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively generate new leads through outbound calling (120+ calls per day), email campaigns, and professional networking.
- Qualify leads, identifying key decision-makers (HR Managers, Partners, Practice Managers, Training Principals) and understanding their apprenticeship needs.
- Book and conduct high-quality sales meetings (target: 4+ per day), presenting apprenticeship solutions effectively.
- Build a solid understanding of apprenticeship programmes, ESFA funding rules, and qualification pathways (including SQE).
- Maintain accurate CRM records—tracking all activity, conversations, and deal stages.
- Handle objections with confidence and clearly communicate the value of the offering.
- Meet and exceed KPIs, including call volumes, meetings booked, and sign-ups.
- Establish strong relationships with prospective clients and collaborate with internal teams.
- Stay informed on industry trends, funding changes, and competitor activity.
Required Skills & Experience (Must-Haves):
- At least 2 years of B2B sales experience in a target-driven environment (ideally selling services/solutions).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
- Confident in telephone and video call-based selling (Teams/Zoom/email).
- Resilient and target-focused, with a proactive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to adopt a consultative sales approach, understanding client needs.
- IT literate and comfortable using CRM systems (Pipedrive experience is a plus), Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Word).
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience (Nice to Have):
- Experience selling apprenticeships or working with government-funded training.
- Knowledge of the UK legal sector or experience selling into professional services.
- Background in education, training, or professional development sales.
Personal Attributes:
- Self-motivated and proactive with a strong desire to succeed.
- Professional, credible, and able to quickly build rapport.
- Fast learner, capable of understanding complex services and funding models.
- Adaptable and open to change in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive and enthusiastic, with a good sense of humour.
- A true team player who contributes to a collaborative working culture.
What We Offer:
- £30,000 basic salary
- Uncapped commission structure – realistic OTE up to £50,000
- No weekends or bank holidays
- Generous annual leave including Christmas closure
- Private healthcare and pension scheme
- Comprehensive training and support
- Long-term career progression in a growing business
- Friendly, supportive, and ambitious working environment
