Job Purpose: The post holder will effectively assist in the provision of a comprehensive warehousing and distribution service for Prison Industries, Headquarters and Establishments based at SPS Fauldhouse. The post holder will assist in ensuring that the daily function of warehouse transportation and storage requirements are operated to maximum efficiency as per business requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading of vehicles, using forklifts, pallet trucks and manual handling methods as appropriate.
  • Checking all incoming goods against delivery notes and checking all outgoing orders prior to dispatch to ensure accuracy.
  • Assemble, make up fixing packs and carry out basic repairs to finished products (such as garden furniture) as required.
  • Complete perpetual stock checks and year-end stock check.
  • General administration duties e.g. updating bin cards, filing, photocopying, scanning and emailing.
  • General housekeeping duties through the warehouse and stores.

Qualifications Requirements: Minimum of 3 National 5 (or equivalent) qualifications, including English and Mathematics or relevant warehouse experience.

Essential Experience of being flexible with the ability to adapt your style and approach in response to particular needs and challenges in a supportive and appropriate manner.

Essential Ability to assess a broad range of solutions, take decisions and tackle the root cause of problems.
