Eden Scott is delighted to be partnering with a Food & Drink Catalyst, to recruit an experienced professional for the position of NPD Chef. The successful candidate will provide commercial advice and expertise to tenants and customers of the industry centre and manage the onsite demonstration and product development kitchens.
Main Duties:
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the NPD kitchen.
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety and food hygiene procedures.
- Maintain all records in relation to NPD and demonstration kitchens.
- Provide a commercial advisory service to tenants and customers in:
- Product development
- Product feasibility
- Recipe formulation
- Nutritional content
- Allergens
- Commercial scale up
- Commercial costing
Qualifications & Experience:
- A trained and experienced senior chef in a busy commercial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience of the new product development process.
- Advanced HACCAP and NEBOSH certificates preferred.
- Advanced culinary skills with a clear understanding and proven capability of transferring development products to a production/manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of plant and processes, ingredients, products and a sound commercial awareness, whilst not inhibiting creativity.
- Capable of recipe development and professional customer presentations.
