As the world moves towards net-zero emissions, the way we use electricity is changing. More than ever, we need experts who can ensure the lights stay on while we transition to greener energy sources. That’s where Power System Engineers come in.

We’re looking for an experienced Power System Engineer to help predict energy demand and ensure it’s met efficiently. You’ll be working with grids and service stations, making sure the right amount of electricity is supplied to the right places at the right time. For example, when big events like football matches take place, energy usage spikes. Your job will be to anticipate these changes and make sure the system can handle the demand.

The shift to net-zero means energy use is evolving, and we need to stay ahead. Understanding customer needs and demand patterns is crucial to keeping things running smoothly. You’ll analyse data, predict load increases, and help manage existing service stations to prevent issues before they arise.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Up to 10 years’ experience in power systems, with 3-5 years in net-zero grids
  • Strong understanding of grid management and power distribution
  • Ability to work with energy providers and industry partners
  • Eligible for sponsorship (EU candidates welcome)

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related field) is essential. A Master’s degree or higher is a plus.

Experience:

  • Hands-on experience in power system engineering, with a strong focus on system design, analysis, and protection.
  • Experience leading and managing engineering teams on large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with power system modelling software, such as ETAP, PSS/E, DigSILENT PowerFactory, CYME, or similar tools.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of power system components, including transformers, circuit breakers, relays, and control systems.
  • Expertise in power system analysis, protection, and control.
  • Experience working on renewable energy integration and grid modernisation projects.
  • Proficiency in electrical CAD software, simulation tools, and system modelling.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse team.
