Associate Structural Engineer | Stockton-on-Tees
We are looking for an experienced & highly skilled Chartered Structural Engineer to join a growing engineering consultancy on Teesside. This is a Permanent role with a forward‑thinking business that values its people and works on diverse projects across multiple sectors.
As an Associate Structural Engineer you will play a vital role in leading and managing structural projects from concept through to completion. You will grow the team, build strong client relationships, and deliver complex projects with precision and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead the structural engineering design process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Oversee and review technical drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated design solutions.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and less experienced engineers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Contribute to business development and identify opportunities for growth.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years post‑chartered experience within an engineering design consultancy, focused on complex projects.
- Capable of leading multiple projects, from small to large, without supervision and chairing concept and detailed design reviews.
- Experienced in structural design and assessment of concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures using U.K. Standards and Eurocodes.
- Proficient in industry‑standard software such as Tekla Structural Designer (TSD), and familiar with Excel, TEDDS, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Knowledge of construction information specification using NBS.
- Able to complete structural condition surveys and reports to a high standard and tight deadlines.
