Nexos are seeking a Senior Civil Designer on a contract basis for 9 months, responsible for the design and drafting of civil engineering projects, including roads, drainage systems, concrete slabs, supporting structures, and utilities. This role involves close collaboration with engineers, structural designers, and project managers to ensure projects are completed successfully, on time, and in compliance with all technical standards, regulations, and client specifications.
As a Senior Civil Designer, you will work in accordance with regulatory HSE and quality requirements, following Business Management System (BMS) procedures while contributing to the improvement of department working practices, systems, and team efficiency. You will ensure the required technical quality of work is maintained through rigorous checking and approval procedures. Effective communication with clients, engineering and project teams, and leadership will be key, as well as continuously looking for ways to improve processes and deliver better results.
The role requires the production and checking of civil deliverables to industry standards and client specifications, as well as preparing and verifying materials take-offs and bills of materials. You will also undertake surveys and create corresponding reports, provide technical input during detailed engineering phases when needed, and establish strong working relationships with designers, discipline leads, department managers, and clients.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Civil Technology, or a related field (or relevant work experience).
- Proven experience (5+ years) in civil design, preferably within infrastructure or land development projects.
- Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and industry standards.
- Strong understanding of site grading, drainage systems, road design, concrete slabs and utilities.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to solve complex design problems.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
