Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership & Project Management
    • Oversee and manage building surveying projects, including condition surveys, dilapidations, party wall matters, and remedial works.
    • Provide expert technical advice and ensure all projects comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Management & Development
    • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Building Surveyors, ensuring high-quality service delivery and professional growth.
    • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and one-to-one coaching.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients on high-profile projects.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high standards of service and satisfaction.
  • Business Development & Strategy
    • Contribute to the growth and direction of the new Birmingham office.
    • Identify and secure new business opportunities through networking and strategic partnerships.
    • Oversee commercial aspects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and project profitability.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Essential:
    • Chartered status (MRICS or equivalent) with relevant professional memberships (e.g., RIBA, CIAT, CIOB).
    • Strong technical knowledge of building pathology, construction methods, and industry regulations.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client management skills.
    • Experience in managing large-scale projects and leading a team.
    • Commercial awareness, including budgeting and resource management.
    • Full UK driving licence.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in business development and strategic planning.
    • Familiarity with surveying technologies and software (e.g., CAD, BIM).
