Billhop is hiring! This role is for Billhop’s UK entity. We are looking for someone who will drive business growth, ensure strong governance, and foster a high-performance culture while maintaining a client-centric and compliant operational framework.

The Role

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and implement the company’s strategic plan to achieve business objectives and long-term sustainability.
    • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams within the FSI sector and others.
    • Lead market expansion efforts while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
    • Align business goals with regulatory expectations and emerging market trends.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and adherence to best practices.
    • Ensure strong governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks are embedded in all business processes.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Leadership
    • Foster a strong risk and compliance culture across the organization.
    • Implement talent development and succession planning initiatives.
    • Lead with integrity and promote ethical decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Maintain strong relationships with investors, clients and the regulator.
    • Represent the company at industry events and forums (Please note, this role may involve travelling to events).

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Essential:
    • Proven experience as a General Manager, Managing Director, or senior leadership role within the Financial Services Industry.
    • Experience in the fintech and payments industries, with a particular focus on commercial cards or supply chain financing.
    • Strong understanding of FCA regulations, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
    • Experience in strategic planning, business development, and operational management.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and scale financial services businesses in a regulated environment.
    • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
    • Strong financial acumen with a track record of delivering growth and profitability.
    • Exceptional at communicating and collaborating with cross-functional teams, while fostering a culture of trust and teamwork.
  • Desirable:
    • Familiarity with emerging regulatory trends in financial services.
    • Experience of leading/ being involved in audits.
    • Experience leading transformation or technology-driven initiatives.
