Are you an experienced Mechanical Estimator looking to take the next step in your career and take on a fresh challenge? Do you have a background in Mechanical Building Services on large scale new build and refurbishment commercial projects?
Duties:
- Overseeing all aspects of the estimating process at a commercial level, supporting the internal team and maintaining relationships with clients.
- Supply and deliver high quality estimates using Trimble estimating software.
- Accurately use drawings to measure material and quantities in accordance with the specifications.
- Distinguishing appropriate suppliers and subcontractors from the company’s supplier database or the client’s preferred supplier list (PSL).
- Producing enquiries, obtaining, and analysing quotes for tender requirements from sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Organising detailed price lists and bills of quantities of everything needed on each project to help inform the tender bid submission.
- Monitor, report and follow up on estimates submitted using internal systems.
- Survey sites and attend various meetings. These may be on Teams or in person.
- Complete project handover to the project team on successful tenders.
- Ensuring compliance with the company’s latest policies and stay up to date with any changes to company procedures.

- Outstanding communication skills are required as it is vital that you can communicate in a fluent and positive manner with other team members and clients.
- A driven individual with a high level of IT literacy with experience in Microsoft Office.
- Punctual person with organisational skills is a must and require both analytical and problem-solving skills.
- An overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of mechanical systems and their installation methods is a must.
Experience & Requirements:
- You must have experience as a Mechanical Building Services Estimator on large scale new build and refurbishment commercial projects.
- Experience in Trimble estimating software is desirable.
- HNC in Building Services desirable but not essential.
- Strong leadership skills and be able to work as a part of a wider team is required.
- Excellent people management skills and be able to motivate others around them.
- Ability to prioritise, organise and multitask to ensure that timescales are met through effective planning.
- Candidates must hold a full UK driving license.
Hours: 40-hour contract, 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 4pm on Friday based in South Wales.
Salary and package: £40,000-£55,000 per year depending on experience. Salary to be confirmed based on qualifications and experience. Healthcare, Pension, Holiday, Company car scheme.
