Location: South Ribble, Lancashire
Salary: £42,000 - £50,000 pa depending on experience (Negotiable) plus overtime
Hours of work: Monday to Friday days - there will be a requirement to work some Saturday mornings.
My client, part of a large group, is a local company providing earthworks, demolition and recycling materials around the North West. They are looking for an HGV Fitter / HGV Technician / Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician to join their workshop based in South Ribble, Lancashire to work with their team of fitters maintaining and inspecting the fleet across the group. The vehicles are mostly Tippers, Low Loaders and Grab Wagons.
As a HGV Fitter / Plant Fitter / Mechanic, your primary responsibility will be to perform maintenance and repair services:
- Diagnosing and Repairing Faults: Accurately identify issues with commercial vehicles and ensure that repairs are carried out effectively.
- Vehicle Inspections: Conduct inspections on vehicles to ensure that they are road-worthy and compliant at 6 weekly inspections.
- Ad hoc Duties: Perform any additional tasks as directed by the Workshop Manager, which may include attending on road call outs.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Experience in the diagnosis, maintenance, servicing, and repair of vehicles, with a specific focus on commercial vehicles.
- Up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques and diagnostic tools.
- Previous attendance of manufacturers’ training courses is highly advantageous.
- A full, current UK driving licence is desirable. Possession of an HGV licence, although not mandatory, would be beneficial.
