The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
We are a well-established Commercial Insurance Broker in the Manchester area and we are currently looking for an experienced and commercially minded Commercial Insurance Account Handler to join our growing, enthusiastic, and highly successful team. This is an exciting time to join our business as we continue to build upon the success of nearly 30 years within the industry. Joining us now, you will play a major part in supporting our vision for achieving sustainable growth whilst building a solid succession plan ensuring we remain independent. This is for the benefit of both the individuals who work here and the clients who will continue to receive a very personal approach.
Duties:
- You must be keen to service clients, develop long-term relationships, review risks and broker them accordingly based on the guidelines and terms and conditions of our DUA & open market broking strategy.
- You will be responsible for New Business, MTAs and Renewals for our institute clients where premiums range from £150 through to £25,000.
- You will work within our Affinity department and collaboratively with Underwriting and Broking Departments.
- You will be supported in your role of dealing with new business enquiries and retaining existing clients.
- Your role will mean you need to gain a sound understanding of our institute relationships and their members, the appetite of our capacity providers whilst having good working relationships with them, as well as having a sound understanding of the open market insurers' appetites and good working relationships with them.
- You will be required to have a good understanding, and to keep on top of any changes to the appetite, policy cover and wordings.
- You must be keen to service clients, develop long-term relationships and have the confidence to assess their requirements, discussing all types of insurance covers and making recommendations where necessary.
- You may act as both the Account Handler and Account Executive for Professional Indemnity led business.
- You should be comfortable discussing other covers such as cyber, D&O and general commercial insurances as required with your clients.
- You should be comfortable in comparing coverage, terms, conditions, and premiums to ensure clients receive the best value for their insurance needs, whilst ensuring you adhere to the company’s placement strategy.
- Ability to check all policies and documentation are accurate and meet the clients' needs, as well as preparing accurate and detailed documents including new business and renewal reports and client letters.
Ideal candidate:
- Knowledgeable Commercial Account Handler who has 3+ years commercial experience in the industry dealing with cross-class insurance and having experience in Professional Indemnity and Financial Lines products.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, both internally and externally.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Achieve and maintain a high level of customer service and promote exceptional customer care standards at all times.
- Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with all clients and insurers whilst providing expert product advice and guidance.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and risk management practices to ensure the business operates ethically and in adherence to legal obligations.
- Proficiency in sales techniques and negotiation strategies.
- Strong analytical skills to assess client risks and identify potential gaps in coverage.
- Acturis experience preferable.
