This growing Nottingham based engineering company are seeking an engineer to join their driven team. They are a technology focused business with big aspirations for the future and want someone who shares their passion for the industry.

They have recently started working on some exciting projects and believe there is no better time to join the company. They have a strong team culture and a good track history of supporting and developing graduates.

You will gain exposure to a variety of aspects across the business, and you will need to adapt to what project you are working on. This could be meeting with clients or helping design to project specifications.

Working with the Sales team you will use Solidworks and AutoCAD to develop mechatronic layouts and present them to the project team and clients, explaining the layout and reasoning using data to help make informed decisions. The explanation could be through PowerPoint or reports where you will need to concisely explain and justify decisions.

You will undertake throughput and cycle time calculations and then be able to specify appropriate equipment to meet the project requirements. You will review client operational processes and develop material flow diagrams to help improve efficiency.

Liaise with other teams such as R&D, Sales and Project teams to ensure that projects and processes are executed to the highest quality. You will demonstrate the ability to produce designs that meet costs, schedules and project specifications, and also assist the company in helping drive efficiencies across all relevant departments.

You will be responsible for running simulations to model and test various scenarios. Furthermore, you will take on the role of crafting comprehensive proposals, drawing upon your simulation results and engineering expertise to present compelling solutions to clients.

Essential Skills

  • Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Strong A-level or academic background
  • Experience within a customer-facing role is desirable
  • Proficient in Solidworks and AutoCAD experience
  • Good communication - written and verbal
  • Microsoft proficient – Excellent in Excel
  • Knowledge/Experience in logistics and supply chain would be advantageous
  • An interest in special purpose, automation or materials handling equipment
