Are you an experienced Optical Engineer with expertise in infrared lens system design and optical solutions for harsh environments? We are looking for a skilled professional to join our team in Basildon to work on cutting-edge defence and aerospace projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design optical solutions for extreme conditions (high/low temperatures, abrasive environments).
- Develop lens systems within the Infrared spectrum.
- Apply expertise in classical imaging optics principles.
- Model and design lens solutions using OpticStudio/Zemax.
- Utilise optical materials and coatings for IR systems.
Nice to Have:
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical designs in EO systems.
- Experience with steered IR imaging systems.
- Background in passive/active athermalisation IR imaging lens design.
- Skills in Modelling & Simulation (MathWorks preferred).
- Hands-on optical laboratory, manufacturing, assembly, and testing experience.
