Tamar Crossings is seeking to appoint an HR Manager to join the team. We are looking for an experienced HR professional who has gained solid experience in HR operations. You will have recent and up-to-date working knowledge of UK legislation and best practice within the profession and a wide range of experience on HR issues including recruitment and retention, employee relations, developing and evaluation of HR policies, and HR systems.
This is a varied HR role in an organisation consisting of over 100 employees that spans both HR operations and strategy, offering plenty of opportunity to lead on HR projects and suggest improvements and change ideas that will positively impact employee experience, performance and effectiveness. You will work closely with managers and employees in a collaborative and supportive working environment for an organisation providing critical transportation links.
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:
- Degree level qualification and/or validated experience
- Membership of CIPD
- Design, implementation and evaluation of HR policies and procedures
- Experience of working effectively with trade union/staff representatives
- Generalist HR experience in a complex organisation
- Considerable experience of dealing with complex and sensitive employee relations issues
- Experience of providing strategic and operational advice to managers
- Experience of change management
- Experience of working in a unionised environment is desirable
- Experience of working in a similar front line, customer focussed organisation is desirable
Occasional out of hours attendance may be required.
Pay & Benefits
- Salary: £45,718 - £49,764 per annum, based on full time post 37 hours per week.
- National Local Government pay awards through the National Joint Council for Local Government Services (NJC)
- Up to 30 hours for this post
