We are looking for a Head of Operations to join the team to lead the operational delivery of our Technology and Innovation Group (TIG) in alignment with key business objectives surrounding portfolio planning and management, and the delivery of technology initiatives to achieve business objectives and key results.
Main duties:
- Operational Leadership & Execution: Oversee and manage the daily operations of TIG, ensuring seamless execution of key initiatives. Drive operational efficiency, optimise workflows, and foster a high-performance culture.
- Cross-Team Coordination: Act as a central point of communication across teams within TIG and the broader Williams Racing organisation. Ensure alignment between business functions and operational teams, driving effective collaboration.
- Governance & Operating Model: Define and maintain the team’s operating model, governance structures, and delivery lifecycle frameworks to ensure clear accountability and efficient execution.
- Portfolio & Programme Management: Lead the prioritisation and execution of projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timely delivery, and budget adherence. Implement agile methodologies where appropriate.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Oversee third-party relationships to maximise value and efficiency. Manage contract negotiations and ensure service providers align with the team’s goals.
- Budgeting & Resource Management: Oversee financial planning and budget management for the department. Ensure efficient allocation of resources and cost optimisation within regulatory constraints.
- Service Delivery & Continuous Improvement: Establish and maintain service KPIs, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure that internal teams and external partners meet or exceed service standards.
- Crisis & Risk Management: Act as the key point of contact for crisis management, ensuring rapid response and resolution in high-pressure situations. Proactively mitigate operational risks.
- OKR Alignment & Tracking: Work across the department to align Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) with the wider organisational strategy. Track progress toward achieving OKRs, ensuring the team meets its goals and measures success effectively.
Skills and experience required:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within technology strategy, operations, or portfolio management.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex vendor relationships and driving service delivery improvements.
- Good level of understanding of software, data, and AI.
- Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams with business goals.
- Experience with service frameworks and KPIs, with a track record of driving continuous improvement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, particularly within a technology-driven or motorsport context.
