Blue Arrow Bristol are recruiting Class 2 drivers to work for one of the UK's market leading retailers from their depot in Avonmouth in Bristol. The roles are temp to perm - after 12 weeks you will be offered a permanent contract directly with the client. The client is happy to accept newly qualified drivers, making it a great opportunity to build your experience and work for a company that will invest in your progression.
All drivers will have to pass a drug and alcohol test (and be happy to be re-tested occasionally) and also undergo a Disclosure Scotland (DBS) clearance. The company has a strict anti-drugs and alcohol policy and conducts random tests for 2-3 staff every day.
The start times for the roles will be between 4am-6am, and you will be completing around 50 hours per week on average. The roles are Monday to Friday only - no weekend work will be involved. The pay rate is £17.00 per hour, with a starting annual salary of £42,432 + overtime + quarterly bonuses.
Please note that the roles are very physical, and 60% of your day will be spent loading and unloading products. You will be working with a driver's mate at all times.
As a Class 2 delivery driver, your duties will include:
- Completing up to 5 deliveries daily
- Manual loading and unloading - extensive training will be provided
- Completing relevant paperwork
- Using PODs
- Providing excellent customer service
Candidate requirements:
- Category C driving licence, up to date CPC and Digi Tacho cards
- No more than 6 points on your driving licence and only for minor offences
- Physical fitness
- Reliability and trustworthiness
- Good customer service skills and willingness to represent client's values
- Good level of spoken English
All drivers will need to pass a driving assessment (theory and practical test as well as a drug & alcohol test) and complete 1 week's worth of training (mainly manual handling and safe lifting practices) before starting to drive yourself.
