The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Plymouth area. We are looking for a Class 1 Shunter to join the team on nights.
Hours: Shifts run across Sunday to Saturday - between 22:30pm - 23:30pm starts
Pay Rate: £14.88 per hour PAYE rising to £15.58 after 12 weeks
Location: Plymouth, PL6
Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate
The role:
- Operate Class 1 vehicles to move trailers and containers within the yard.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the safe operation of equipment.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C&E).
- Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
- No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
- Full understanding of WTD legislation.
- Be prepared to undertake a short driving assessment for the position.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A safety-first mindset.
