Our client is a specialist joinery and fit-out contractor based in Manchester. Owing to growth plans and contract wins, they are recruiting for an experienced Contracts Manager to help drive operations both locally and nationally. It is desirable that the successful applicant has a background in joinery/fit-out, as well as experience working within the passive fire market, particularly with fire doors.

Day to day duties will include:

  • Programme Planning - plan projects and ensure they are programmed to a level of detail necessary for the site teams to deliver the scheme without delays.
  • Ensure procurement and reconciliation of materials is carried out to best value and to prevent delays.
  • Attend tender handover meetings and deliver pre-start meetings to the site team.
  • Produce and analyse progress reports and forecasts.
  • Work alongside the Commercial Department and pay due cognisance to the commercial standing and management of individual projects.
  • Implement the risk management process, review risk register and check risk controls.
  • Ensure weekly review of progress, budget resources and forward planning are carried out, and look-ahead programmes are in place.
  • Chair and attend internal and external meetings and ensure the production of accurate records of any discussions and actions.
  • Input into PQQ's, ITT's and tenders as required.
  • Ensure all applications for payment are issued on time and in accordance with the contract.
  • Work with the commercial team to ensure that the CVR's are set-up and monthly reports are accurate.
  • Compile new project PEP documentation and client specific documents.
  • Chair Contract Review Meetings.
