Scotland / London (Remote working)

About the role:

Manage the entire Grant Claim process for the SRN programme (approximately 600 capex claims across approximately 240 sites, and up to approximate 4,000 opex claims), ensuring invoices are collated for all Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), details checked, claims accurately submitted into BDUK (Building Digital UK), and the monies distributed back to the MNOs in accordance with the SRN Grant Agreement.

Key Accountability:

  • Collate claims from the MNOs and check the details on invoices match those on the collated Grant Claim forms.
  • Review claim forms with the Finance Project Manager and SRN Project Manager to ensure absolute accuracy.
  • Action and respond to potential claim queries from Building Digital UK (BDUK) in a timely fashion.
  • Raise POs for the relevant MNOs and manage the process of paying the subsequent invoices for the Grant Claims.
  • Keep accurate trackers of Grant Claims and where each of them are in their claim timelines.
  • Build strong relationships with the Finance Leads in the MNOs to ensure progress is kept up on site invoicing.
  • Provide regular formal reporting on Claims progress, both internally within DMSL via the Finance Board & externally to MNOs/Government via the Steering Committee.
  • Present the current claims progress to the MNOs at the monthly Finance Board.

Required Skills:

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple work streams whilst achieving results through others.
  • Knowledge of financial processes and instruments (e.g. accruals/prepayments, assets/liabilities, depreciation, etc.).
  • Ability to coordinate, manage, problem solve, strategise, schedule, analyse, and plan.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite of programs - specifically Excel.
  • Some knowledge of G Suite of applications is also beneficial (e.g. Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.).
  • Ability to use appropriate judgement and initiative in making recommendations and resolving problems that are highly complex and sensitive in nature.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, including the ability to convey complex and technical subjects in a clear, concise and positive manner.
  • Knowledge of the telecoms industry, specifically mobile network deployment.
  • Knowledge of Sage accounting platform.
