The Opportunity

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estate Surveyor / Manager to oversee the management of a prestigious, historic private estate in Surrey. This multi-faceted role involves managing a diverse property portfolio, including farmland, woodland, residential and commercial lets, as well as areas of common land and Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The successful candidate will play a key role in optimising land and property use while ensuring long-term sustainability. This is a unique chance to join a long-established estate and contribute to its future growth and preservation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the estate’s let and in-hand property portfolios
  • Engage with tenants, contractors, and third-party stakeholders
  • Supervise maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment projects
  • Identify and implement new income opportunities, including natural capital projects
  • Manage lease renewals, rent reviews, and new lettings
  • Prepare estate reports, budgets, and financial planning documents
  • Oversee grant applications and compliance with land management regulations
  • Review and manage contracts, insurance, and health & safety policies

Candidate Profile

  • RICS qualification (or equivalent) with 3+ years’ PQE
  • Strong organisational, negotiation, and financial management skills
  • A self-starter with the ability to lead and motivate others
  • Proficiency in estate management technology and reporting
  • A full driving licence
